Other things to note
My home is a perfect spot for artists, bird watcher and walkers. Honey buzzards circle at eye level, a migrating hoopie returns every year in spring. The local walks are plentiful. In the local mountains you can find Cyclopean walls, churches, waterfalls, a neolithic tomb recently excavated and endless artifacts. It goes without say that the Cephalonian light is perfect for artists and photographers.
- Not safe or suitable for infants (Under 2 years) - The balcony does not have a rail, my house is perfect for infants who are not walking or crawling

The neighbourhood
Julia’s home is located in the quiet village of Tzanata, Kefalonia.
The house is peaceful and secluded, our nearest neighbors are at the bottom of the hill, and the only traffic past the house are the local sheep and the bee man, who will sell you honey. There are numerous beaches within a short drive, including deserted sandy beach where sea turtles nest, pebbled beaches and rocky snorkeling coves - you can swim at a different one each day. Tzanata is a small unspoilt village with a freshwater spring in the main square. In the village there is a Mycenaean beehive tomb, said to be that of Odysseus. Above the village (760m) on mount Atros is an 8th century monastery which is still inhabited by monks.
The local town, Poros, has numerous tavernas and bars, with a bank, bakery, pharmacy, green grocer and three supermarkets.
Getting around
A car is desirable, however I have had guests that have used local taxis and the twice daily bus service to the next village of Scalla. My teenage children walk to the beach, it takes about 30 mins.
